Filey Hand Knitted Gansey August 05 2013

Post number four and the Filey Gansey is finally finished.

150 plus hours to knit by Kate Banks.

Slightly longer length and figure hugging fit provided by

the body pattern for maximum warmth.

Double thickness yarn is used to finish the last few rows

of rib. Making the hem extra durable to wear and tear.

The extra length allows the wearer to turn the hem rib up.

The top half if sleeve from the elbow upwards is knitted

in the same 'steps & rope' as the body. Joined together

at the shoulder with a band of 'ridge & furrow' stitches.

Ready to go and a lifetime of wear.
